Actress: Tea Protestors Were Redneck Racists
Don't like high taxes or runaway government spending? You're a dumb, redneck racist.
That's essentially what liberal actor Janeane Garofalo said on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night. She was prompted to give a response on the Tea Party protests after Olbermann ranted on about the protesters "seething with hate." This from Olbermann, who essentially built an entire show around an hour-long, hate-filled rant about then president George W. Bush.
Olbermann still rants about Bush in a daily segment each on his show - 100 days after Bush left office, mind you. At what point is he forced to give it up? Still somehow - after Olbermann had finished his numerous immature references to male genitals, which he evidently thought were funny - Garofalo upstaged Olbermann on who could be the nuttiest hypocrite on stage.
"You know there is nothing more interesting than seeing a bunch of racists become confused and angry," she led off with. She went on to describe how none of the protesters could tell what the speakers were saying, or knew history at all.
"Let's be very honest about what this is about: It's not about bashing Democrats, it's not about taxes, they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about, they don't know their history at all. This was about hating a black man in the White House," she said pointing her finger. "This is racism straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of tea-bagging rednecks and there is no way around that."
She couldn't just leave it at that, no way! She had much more hate left before she would be ready to give up the floor.
"You can tell these type of right-wingers anything and they'll believe it except the truth. You tell them the truth and they become -- it's like showing Frankenstein's monster fire -- they become confused and angry and highly volatile...The limbic brain of a right-winger or Republican or conservative or your average white power activist. Their limbic brain is much larger in their head space than in a reasonable person and it's pushing against the frontal lobe so their synapses are misfiring."
There is nothing that can be done to fix conservatives -- or just people who think they pay too much in taxes, she said, because it's about racism.
If you are concerned about runaway government spending, you evidently are an uneducated, brain damaged, redneck, racist who is unable to decipher truth from fiction.
Paul Begala got a little worked up over the tea protests on Imus in the Morning Wednesday as well saying that Tax Day was "the proudest, most patriotic day for 99 percent of Americans, that we have all year."
Are 99 percent of Americans really going to think of tax day as the most patriotic day of the year? Not in this lifetime. What about real patriotic days like July 4th, Armistice Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc.?
Begala went on to a call tea partiers "Wimpy, whining weasels" who "don't love their country."
One thing is certain: Begala and Garofalo didn't seem to have a problem with whining throughout the past eight years.

Jwarrick - It just so happens that I am 70, so be careful who you are chastising. No I did not go out and protest when Bush was in office, but I wrote a lot of letters..Did you? And again, I stated that the bailout was a bi-partisan disaster. No question. It's the budget (they are not the same thing) that finally got people off the couch and into the street. That one is ALL on the dems and the pres who signed it. We borrowed every dime for this pork laden budget. Just who do you think is goin to repay all that wasted money, plus interest? There are not enough rich people in the world to pay that back. ALL experts agree.....taxes will have to be raised on every American for the next 3 generations. You got your tax break you were promised. It's paltry and it's not scheduled to last. You know it, I know it and Obama knows it. And BTW, the word "idiot" only appears in your post, not mine. YET SOMEHOW I KNEW THE ELITE WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE A FIT BECAUSE THE OLD SAYING " THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR GET POORER" IS 100% TRUE.

Sorry Granny, I stand by my original post. Your post is full of information that is factually untrue. Sounds like you took a couple of sound bites, decided what you WANTED to believe, disregarded the rest, and put together some scenarios that fit what they tell you in church. It invalidates everything you say. This racism thing has been shown to be coming straight out of the black churches and we have all seen how much truth is included in that issue with them. Racism begins when you think your race is better and the rest are just wrong no matter what. Therefore, I think I am offended by your racist comments. I have never watched his show and I do not know who she is ? I think EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT to protest in peace not violence if they disagree with whats going on in the govt. I know my grands will have to pay for obama,s spending its SIMPLE math, so maybe the PEOPLE who are prostesting have GOT IT RIGHT. White, Black, American Indian, whatever!! ALL OF US are fed up with taxes and big Government. When are all of us going to get so fed up with these liberal jokes we turn off the TV and forget seeing the movies? If anyone knows anything, its that the tea party was NOT against Obama, it was about taxes and government. And I can tell you, after 8 years of Bush Bashing, we have that right. Where were the "Tea Parties" when Bush was in Office!!!! I know you Conservatives hate to see his name in print but but HE is the one responsible for the mess we are in! The ONLY people who are B*tching about taxes are the ones that are Rich or very well off. They are throwing a tantrum. And the "Tea Parties" are ridiculous. I don't mind paying taxes and helping my fellow man... But then again.. I am not rich. Thank you God you didn't make me a Rich selfish bastard. I am also not poor. My taxes went down not up like this protests suggest. What was said on this show was harsh and untrue.. But it is the blind leading the blind and the ultra rich ultra conservative taking advantage of the people that don't know any better to further their agenda. Period!

It isn't a matter of who makes the taxes... you political bigott. I am an independent and don't like the present tax system no matter who's responsible. And rich actors who take full advantage of their deductions and tax dodges and then call the working class red-necks because they want tax relief for some pretty significant reasons is hypocritical (I'm a Mexican American, mental health worker and theater technician by the way...so much for being a red-neck)You Obama lovers are so filled with hate I think it's time for some therapy. I'm sure this "actress" who ever she is, makes far more money than I do, and lives in a much bigger house. I paid almost $20,000 in taxes last year... imagine what I could have done with that money. I could have given to the charity of my choice, I could have adopted a child, or I could have paid off a few bills.. my money, I earned it, I should be able to do what I want with it. But the government took it and did what they wanted with it, some of those things were killing babies (abortion), giving out welfare checks to people who are probably making more money under the table than I make all year, supporting drug addicts on social security disability for a self inflicted wound... AND then not testing them for drugs. Mad? you betcha!!!

this woman is definately in need of some therapy. as the cameras scanned the crowds, i saw many people that did not fit the redneck mode. asian, latins, blacks. i did not think her comments appropriate, nor the insulting manner is which they were presented. she and olberfurher need to get on with life. the bush era is over and their messiah is making his own mistakes. the only difference is that his mistakes are going to be much more far reaching than his predeccessor's. these two make a fine pair, they both have rabies and are demented.. speaking of "tea bagging", i will return the insult. if i tea bagged that bitch, i would not even bother to wash for a week..
