Actress: Tea Protestors Were Redneck Racists
Don't like high taxes or runaway government spending? You're a dumb, redneck racist.
That's essentially what liberal actor Janeane Garofalo said on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night. She was prompted to give a response on the Tea Party protests after Olbermann ranted on about the protesters "seething with hate." This from Olbermann, who essentially built an entire show around an hour-long, hate-filled rant about then president George W. Bush.
Olbermann still rants about Bush in a daily segment each on his show - 100 days after Bush left office, mind you. At what point is he forced to give it up? Still somehow - after Olbermann had finished his numerous immature references to male genitals, which he evidently thought were funny - Garofalo upstaged Olbermann on who could be the nuttiest hypocrite on stage.
"You know there is nothing more interesting than seeing a bunch of racists become confused and angry," she led off with. She went on to describe how none of the protesters could tell what the speakers were saying, or knew history at all.
"Let's be very honest about what this is about: It's not about bashing Democrats, it's not about taxes, they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about, they don't know their history at all. This was about hating a black man in the White House," she said pointing her finger. "This is racism straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of tea-bagging rednecks and there is no way around that."
She couldn't just leave it at that, no way! She had much more hate left before she would be ready to give up the floor.
"You can tell these type of right-wingers anything and they'll believe it except the truth. You tell them the truth and they become -- it's like showing Frankenstein's monster fire -- they become confused and angry and highly volatile...The limbic brain of a right-winger or Republican or conservative or your average white power activist. Their limbic brain is much larger in their head space than in a reasonable person and it's pushing against the frontal lobe so their synapses are misfiring."
There is nothing that can be done to fix conservatives -- or just people who think they pay too much in taxes, she said, because it's about racism.
If you are concerned about runaway government spending, you evidently are an uneducated, brain damaged, redneck, racist who is unable to decipher truth from fiction.
Paul Begala got a little worked up over the tea protests on Imus in the Morning Wednesday as well saying that Tax Day was "the proudest, most patriotic day for 99 percent of Americans, that we have all year."
Are 99 percent of Americans really going to think of tax day as the most patriotic day of the year? Not in this lifetime. What about real patriotic days like July 4th, Armistice Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc.?
Begala went on to a call tea partiers "Wimpy, whining weasels" who "don't love their country."
One thing is certain: Begala and Garofalo didn't seem to have a problem with whining throughout the past eight years.

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
We had about 20 people speak. They were very passionate. There were professionals, veterans, families, some young people.
The speakers talked about planting a seed, of future tea parties. That each one of us, need to take 10 people and educate them as to what is going on in this country. Several were newly naturalized citizens and were happy to be in American but do not like what is going on. We had elderly people get up there, they were veterans, who sons were also serving in the military. They told of the never having seen this much debt and unemployment. There were people said that we are getting reduced income tax taken out but then listed off the other taxes that we pay that are going up. Some people mentioned that they do not mind paying taxes if they went for our great military and for protection and for infrastructure. Others said that is was so great that we could gather like this without fear, while others pointed to Homeland Security warning about "right-wing extremist" . Some suggested meeting again on the fourth of July.
Many of the people had signs, (about 15 - 20 signs) Kids had signs saying I am only 11 years old but I already have a debt of $31,000. Another "We are not your ATM" , "Vote the bastards out" , "Your change means we have no change left" , " The Democrats have hope, The Republicans have common sense".
My sign said " The nationalization of the free market economy is anarchy" (flipside) "The Republicans and Democrats are trampling the Constitution".
It was a very peaceful gathering. We have paid taxes all of our lives. The problem is now we are spending our childrens' and their childrens' taxes for years to come with the current stimulus bill.
It is like borrowing all the money on your home as much equity you have in it. Charge up all credit cards
to their max. Spend your savings. Cash out your 401k savings and Cash your pension. Borrow money from anyone you can relatives and friends. Call the Chinese consulate for money to pay off your bills.
Does that make sense? Spend everything, borrow on everything and then borrow from all your friends.
That would be suicidal to do that in your life. But you want the Government to do exactly that.
It just does not make sense to spend money to get out of debit.
We aren't anti-government, racists or rednecks. We are just Americans that do not want to see our country go down the tubes by spending money we do not have. We got thru the depression and we will get thru this but we have to make wise choices. That is all we want, to see our country strong again.

I was so happy to see the tea parties! It's so frustrating to see the country I love being destroyed by politicians and big business greed. We needed the tea parties to show the rest of America that we want the spending to stop, we want illegals to stop taking our jobs (and they are) etc. We all want our country back and are willing to speak up and let the rest of the world know it! Let's do it again - only bigger!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it the Bush administration that started the whole stimulus/bailout thing? You republikkkans are such bullsh!ters! Admit that you hate President Obama because he's not white and move on. Your simple-minded party has ruined this country over the last 8 years and (YOURS TOO) President Obama is now the one to blame? LMAO. Hopefully someone will invent a plague that kills all of you idiots in one fell swoop!

Must be some of that socalled "redneck hate" Barfoffalo was talking about...eh? Only, I get a sense this particular poster isn't quite a "redneck" but, more like, a putrid leftist. And, no, it WASN'T Bush that started this whole stimulus/bailout thing. Bailouts and stimulus have been staples on the American landscape for decades. From when Chrysler was bailed out by the federal government during the Carter administration to money being spent to create multitudes of jobs throughout the decades. That you surmise that "stimulus/bailout" is somehow exclusive to George W. Bush only goes to demonstrate with amazing clarity how truly ignorant and biased you truly are.

I suspect your history teachers are Rush, Glen and maybe John McCain, and they aren't any good at it, nor are they good at arithmetic.
Let me explain: your "share" of the National Debt is NOT a per-capita figure you can calculate by simple-minded arithmetic. It depends mostly on three factors.
The first is the shape of the graduated income tax curve. If you don't pay any Federal Income Tax (and many low-paid workers don't) then your share is ZERO, because the federal debt is not paid by Social Security (FICA) taxes, nor by State or local sales, income or property taxes.
The second is the change in the size of the National Debt relative to the size of THAT PART OF THE ECONOMY THAT IS SUBJECT TO FEDERAL INCOME TAXES. The Reagan and Bush administrations (both Bushes) saw the size of that debt rise, relative to the size of the economy. The preceeding administrations had all seen a steady decrease in that important factor, but GOP tax cuts enriched the wealthy by passing on more debt to "our grandchildren" for the first time since the Second World War.
The third important factor is your own place on that progressive tax scale. If you really hate the idea of paying taxes, then you should be sure not to earn any taxable income. That's what the wealthy are trying to do: by reducing their capital gains TAX while their capital gains income grows, they've shifted the burden to those of us whose incomes are taxable ("working people". By exempting capital gains and inheritance entirely from Federal taxes, they would foist off ALL of their share onto workers. So "conservative" nostrums like the flat-rate tax and an end to the "death tax" are important tools to increase workers' share of the National Debt.
Why would any reasonable working person support this trend? Ask a GOP voter . . . but then ask him if he or she understands what the GOP has done, and you'll have your answer: most GOP voters support "conservative" politicians BECAUSE THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND CONSERVATIVE POLICIES.
They don't understand, because their teachers are Rush, Glen, . . . (go back to the top).

Isn't racism the denigration of a homogenous group (a race of human beings) based on unfounded negative stereotypes of the group in question? I wonder if Garafalo ever once stopped to think that she was exhibiting far more predjudice than 99% of the tea party activists. I'd suggest that she try to remove the beam from her eye before she tries to remove the splinter from anyone else's.

Lol, did anyone realize that the left seem to like being tea-bagged. They keep calling us tea-baggers. That would infer there would also have to be tea-bagees. The left would be the most logical choice for that group. That means that the left are the ones with balls in their faces. But, then again, most of them would love that.

First off, the staff at MSNBC need to be reminded that it's not Bush in office, and this country has been on a downturn economically for decades. Remembering History is NOT racist. That is what Garofalo and Oberman want all to believe. They are social pnemotodes who blame every opposing thought to their agenda on racism. They obviously do not know that many conservatives come from all races, religious backgrounds and creeds. She can't get a decent acting role so she's taken to bashing fellow citizens. I'll never watch another show she's in either because she's the one spewing hate. Not the conservatives I know. Anyone who refers to Americans from around the country as "tea bagging rednecks" doesn't deserve their job. Bias like that is as evil as racism, and people should call her and Oberman on the carpet for it. By making such a statement, she obviously believes the tea parties only took place in the South. Has anyone informed her that she can calm down now that the Civil War has been over for well over a hundred years? The NORTH won...Hello!!!

Janeane Garofalo doesn't realize that not only does she exhibit every trait that she cried about, but she exhibits them in the exacts words she is throwing. It really shows the intelligence level of the left. All of the protests seemed to be focused on spending that when compared to mountains, would make mount everest look like a speed bump and the higher taxes that will result from it. The only thing the left can do is name calling. It isn't just name calling though; it is the blatant slander. They can't come up with any defenses of communism. The on;y thing I can deduct is that they either don't really have a clue what is going on and just drink the kool-aid like zombies (see bob hope) and think because Obama said it will be good that it is going to be good or they just really like the idea of communism but can't defend it in a public forum. In communism the only people benefitting is the poor and the government. The government gets rich, the poor get a free ride and everyone else pays for it. They also don't realize that most Americans aren't mindless zombies spewing stupidity at every turn. The old addage will ring true, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Do you really think they will allow themselves to be brainwashed at second time around? Most people are trying to find the brakes and throw this thing in reverse and punch the gas. Especially since the commie head of homeland security called 99% of Americans potential terrorists.

Isn't it a shame that the man that has been in office 3 months and that now owns the inherited economic issues of Geo. Bush & Co. is becoming the fall guy for 8 years of poor policy, an illegal war, out of control spending and tax hikes (from the "conservative" party, at that!)?
IF (big IF) the signs the "teabaggers" (appropriate name) were carrying didn't call for "revolution" then MAYBE some of us wouldn't feel that this entire ball of crap wasn't about race and political parties. When you put your bigotry and hated in black and white you cannot deny.
What I find VERY interesting is all these people want to claim that (all of a sudden) we are spending our childrens money when the older generations (that would be where I come in) have been saying the EXACT same thing for YEARS about a balanced budget. What you "young'uns" are now screaming about is NOTHING new. Don't think that out of the clear blue you found a cause - you haven't. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE HAD A FEW BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENTS PUT BEFORE CONGRESS IN THE PAST 80 YEARS. Please, stop staring at your screen in utter shock. Us "old f*rts" aren't stupid.
So, let me ask ALL of you "teabaggers" these questions: You want to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; you want the use of public roads and highways; you want your local emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) to be funded; you want your schools fully funded and teachers paid a decent salary... so, where do we get that money?
I see the VERY small crowds of people ranting and raving on the capital lawns and the menaces on some of these boards with their ridiculous threats of violent "revolution" and hideous lies and propaganda and twisted and skewed view of history but what I NEVER see is a comprehensive WORKABLE solution.
As a "boss" I NEVER let an employee come into my office with a problem WITHOUT bringing a solution with them. In other words, don't biitch just to biitch because that makes you 100% part of the problem - all that makes you is EXACTLY what Janeane Garofalo has called you - A WHINER.

What I witnessed at a "Tea Party" was a group of concerned taxpayers expressing their disapproval of TARP 1 and Tarp 2 and of the "stimulous package". The group had white, black and hispanic participants. The most amazing thing about this gathering was 30 minutes after it ended the entire park area they had used was completely clean and looked as though they were never there. All of you lefties need to lighten up and enjoy "your day". Soon enough it will have come to a close.
