'White People With Blue Eyes' Caused Economic Crisis?
Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recently blamed the global economic crisis on "white people with blue eyes," and said it was wrong that black and indigenous people should pay for white people's mistakes, the Financial Times reported.Standing next to UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown at a joint press conference in Brasilia, Lula da Silva told reporters: "This crisis was caused by the irrational behaviour of white people with blue eyes, who before the crisis appeared to know everything and now demonstrate that they know nothing."
"I do not know any black or indigenous bankers so I can only say [it is wrong] that this part of mankind which is victimised more than any other should pay for the crisis," he added.
What a fun position Gordon Brown found himself in!
Brown's tour was in preparation for Thursday's G20 summit. Brown made a joint appeal for the world's biggest economies to pledge $100 billion to boost global trade.
Adding to his analysis of the economic crisis, Lula da Silva likened protectionism to addictive drugs.
"I compare protectionism to a drug," he said. "Why do people use drugs? Because they are in crisis and they think the drug will help them. But its effects pass quickly."
While not as shocking as the first pronouncement, this isn't winning a Nobel any time soon either. Such extreme statements also won't help Brazil's campaign for a bigger voice in international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the Financial Stability Forum. At least until their president drastically alters his thinking.
And that might be the only positive development to come of all this.

Omigod!!!! When are we going to stand up to this kind of irrational, bigoted trash? Blond hair and blue eyes, can the ovens be far behind? Do these people want a backlash? Do the celebrities want to continue to support this kind of nonsense? I, who have blond hair and blue eyes have not caused the tragedy of the world. It falls to the feet of the wealthy, like Lula De Silva. A rich man who comes from a rich family who has never known a day of poverty in his life. He is an evil man, known for his stinginess.

I think it's a sad commentary on our Politically Correct times that most people are afraid to confront those who are racist against whites.

So the President of Brazil believes all of the world’s problems are the fault of Whites. He's got a friend in Barack. Robert Reich and Charles Rangel both seem awfully political when they say the government economic aid shouldn't go to "white male construction workers" (even if they've LOST their jobs) and that the states should have no input where their money will be spent. This is how Democratic economic programs have always played out...anti-white, pay your pals. This a danger with irrational people that instead of just supporting minority efforts they go too far and subjugate the majority to the downfall of all. Watch out !!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opxuUj6vFa4&feature=bz301

Hey truth, you want some truth! Barney Frank is the one that told fanny mae and freedy mac to issue loans to people, with zero money down. Democrats have been in control for over a year and that's about when the economy started to fail, when they took over.

Maybe the Brazilian president should be more concerned with the fact that his country is violating international law, in the form of the Hague Treaty. About 5 years ago, an American child, Sean Goldman, was kidnapped by his mother who took him to Brazil. His father, who was the primary care giver has fought for his son and even recieved death threats for his efforts. The courts in Brazil have refused to return the child to the US, even though he's an American citizen- all because the childn't new stepfather is a very prominent lawyer in Brazil. Where is Lula da Silva's outrage about that???

Brazil and its president, need a wake up call, First statements as this do encorage civil unrest, both here an abroad,, the reality is that some one decided every one should own a home, it did not matter if they could pay for it,it did not matter if they had a job, if they were legal,or illegal, well guess what they could not pay the bill, now those sub prime loans have all hit the wall, and banks have more paper, than money, well gee paper does not pay the bills, so came the S---- rolling down hill, and taking everything with it, and who do we blame, white people, SO Sorry, i worked hard,i bought what i could afford, i do not live on mass credit cards, and, oh what a shock, i pay my standard morgage payment, for my house, that i actually put a down payment on, this is not a white or a black fault, its the fault of those who refuse to work hard, those who think the system owes them a free ride, those who earn nothing and new full well when purchasing their house that those payments would double in a few years, and now with the next to nothing income, they can not pay the monthly payment, this is the fault of fannie, freddy, and barny frank, and a host of other librals, who think that those who work hard, those who hold down two jobs, to pay thier debts, need to now pay the debts of those who do nothing,i am sick and tired of the whinning and the librals telling me i have to foot this mass free ride, when i am working,my husband works two jobs, and we now are expected to contribute to those who are not,, GIVE ME A BRAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, no one wants to even mention the basic problem of stupidity. This is what gave us the disastrous eight years with George Bush. Stupid people voted for him because he was one of them. And don't blame LIBERALS for that. I am so tired of people who think they know everything but don't even have enough sense to capitalize their "i".
OK, let me explain one thing: Your BRAKE is on the floorboard of your car, somewhere near the accelerator.

our country started goin down the hole when the democrats, more specifically nanci pelosi took office back in 06. Obama made office because he's black plain and simple, he couldn't even come up with his own slogan. Change change change was initiated by nanci pelosi back in 06. if you paid attention to politics before Akorn fraudulantly gave obama the presidentcy you would know that. Look at the 180 obama took with regards to spending money. He complained every day about bush during his campaign about his stimulus packages and then increases it 10 fold.

The ghetto mentality in a nutshell means that if anything in your life goes wrong for any reason it is a White person's fault. This is a great way to remove any sense of responsibility for one's own actions and to disconnect the link between work and reward. When in doubt blame the White person or better yet call the White person a racist.

I see that other countries are starting to learn the sleazy techniques of our politicians and civil rights leaders. In this case the charge is particularly aggreous. I think this President Silva should go back through recent Brazilian history and try to count the Millions Upon Millions of dollars that the United States and European nations have charitably donated and invested in his country. Brazil would not hold the position of a growing South American economic power had it not been for these investments. President Silva will remain completely uncredible in all he says until his government does something about the pitiful living conditions and poverty that are prevasive just beyond the Golden Illusion of prosperity that Brazil's waterfront paradise portrays.

What?! I can't believe what I read, what an idiotic and racist thing to say. Do you think he would dare say it was people of color who caused this porblem? It is time for us "white people with blue eyes" to stand up and speak out against this kind of attack. I doubt that Obama will (he's busy filling out his NCAA bracket and appearing on talk shows) but he should denounce the statement. I mean, he did say that the finger pointing and bickering had to stop. Was that before or after he continued to slam Bush, Cheney, and the rest of the previous administration...? God help us.

I don't think he would say it was people of color that caused this because there have not been many if any people of color in position to cause this problem.
