Obama: You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry...

A lot of details can get lost in the mix while Washington's best and brightest debate the president's stimulus package. In short, Democrats mostly want to OK the $819 billion boost, while Republicans want to trim it down and include more tax breaks.
It would appear to be a civil debate, maybe a little partisan, but certainly nothing worthy of Taiwan-style parliamentary fistfights --
Oh wait. Barack "The Hulk" Obama just walked in.
Speaking at the House Dems' retreat in Virginia, Obama threw down his stick and pads, spat on the floor and growled in the face of cameras -- metaphorically. Though the president did mock his opponents in the GOP for criticizing how the aid package requires too much spending, saying:
"What do you think a stimulus is? It's spending. That's the whole point! No, seriously, that's the point."
Hey, easy, big guy. We're just saying, maybe we should ease back on the trillion-dollar cash delivery, and have a reasonable discussion about it. I mean, why are we spending $800 billion when we've got this deficit --
"First of all, I found this deficit when I showed up, number 1," Obama barked back. "I found this national debt doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me when I stepped into the Oval Office."
Well, at least it was wrapped!
All right, so party politics is back (did it ever leave?), and it's finally getting fun again. Just this week, John McCain, apparently unaware of Nov. 4's results, returned to the spotlight to offer up his own stimulus package, roughly half the size of Obama's and made up almost entirely of tax cuts. It was promptly rejected in the Senate.
And, before that, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asserted her dominance to reporters when one asked her about Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge influencing the stimulus's makeup. "I am the speaker of the House. I don't get into that," she said while waving away the question, Politico reported.
Quick, somebody fetch this Congress a bucket of water. 'Cos it is on fire!

You got that wrong, instead of being a "professional politician", he was a community organizer who just happens to be a Constitutional scholar who taught that law for a decade at the Univ.of Chicago(after having been elected by his white peers as Pres. of the Harvard Law Review). He now is applying that Law;you deebs don't stand a chance having mistaken what a fascist-minded Republican family dynasty okayed and which is considered criminal and will be tried by the ICC for war-crimes.

Sue,
What can we expect from these posters with intelligence levels that belie their having access to this column's replies because they actually attend Boston University? I find the connection dubious but, who am I to challenge how much of an education they have retained, as I'm an outsider myself who merely remembers that when school busing was attempted in their community, their grandparents let their kids go out and play in the streets and create a public disorder. Those day's are over;if they didn't appreciate Senator Kerry while he was on their side, they have missed their opportunity. They certainly don't appreciate their last chance to survive a Depression like my parents faced and conquered because of an administration policy exercised exactly as Bo is determining. That he has to sift out the grifters and the graft dependent is an excellent idea whose time has come.

The stimulus package has been voted now You Bostonians will have jobs that you tried to screw yourself out of and how dumb is that. But the lack of assistance for early education before kindergarden is now your fault, as is also the lack of using energy saving methods to update the Government buildings in the Capital; your fault. I am sure your school-mates and neighbors will remember who you are and where you stood on one of the most significant acts before Congress to stimulate the economy by providing jobs!

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation."

Becky you are 100% correct, but these idiots never learn from their mistakes. All they are doing is adding to the lazy assed group that has lived off of the welfare handouts for generations. As a Tax Payer I don't see any help for the working people. We serve in our military, raise a family, obey the laws and work our butts off to make ends meet, then the ass holes in D.C. decide we have too much and have to share it with the bums that don't work, have wholesale kids, rob us, use drug, destory our kids and get rewarded for it. By getting more benefits for being useless.

David, Obama's agenda is not the salvation of the American economy. His agenda is the destruction of our social structure and building his private army that he wanted. Through the 5.2 billion he gave to ACORN and the billions he plans to funnel into militant organizations such as The Nation of Islam, Black Panthers and other disruptive groups he will be able to declare martial law due to all the crime being commited. At that point we will lose all our civil rights. It worked for Sadam Hussien so he figures it will work for him.

This stiumulus package contains every IRRESPONSIBLE (pork) DEMS spending program that the DEMS for the past 40 years have wanted to implement. Then they attempt to consider American's too stupid to realize they are being and flimm flammed into accepting a PORK FILLED stimulus package that will do NOTHING to help the economy and everything to hasten bankrupting our economy.
The same way the DEMS don't want to pass HR 219 OR the VET'S lockbox law or the COLA which will Successfully protect SOC SEC MEDICARE/MEDICAID SUCCESSFULLY without raising rates and without cutting services. WHY??? Politicians would rather scare everyone with tax cuts and service cuts rather than keep their hands out of the SOC SEC "till" --to keep on using SOC SEC as a "petty cash fund" for pork projects instead which will further aid in bankrupting this Nation. They would rather scare everyone by claiming it's needful to raise taxes or make cuts or their Socialist rhetoric of---how "selfish" everyone" is for not wanting to pay higher taxes; Rather than refrain from 'raiding" SOC SEC for their pet pork projects.
Go see what we saw at the Christian Seniors Association--site and the -Campaign to Save Social Security and Medicare site project of National Assoc for Uniformed Services.
Here, the DEMS want to irresponsibly bailout the business, which will bankrupt US unless we apply brakes and ceilings, and caps and make businesses pay money back in timely fashion.
It is necessary that WE THE PEOPLE make it clear that NO BONUS for CEO's UNTIL the business are profitable and the money is paid BACK to THE PUBLIC.
Meanwhile COPORATE America want's a gravy train PLUS the bonus while the very one's whose backs the bonus's come from can barely put food on the table.
NOTICE that it's the PUBLIC whom always gets left holding the empty purse strings??? These moves are strictly out of the marxist handbook designed to bankrupt our Nation and WE THE PEOPLE need to get to the lobby groups and make sure that they acquire the teeth to see to it that EVERY piece of PORK is taken out and item by item this bill is scrutinized and re-worked until it is suitable for WE THE PEOPLE.
no wonder the DEMS want to do away with the lobby groups and anyone and anything that speaks up to help America and protect American's

Why isn't anyone talking about the fact that it costs about 340 billion dollars a year for all these illegals we have in our country. It looks like we could save some money there.

Just found out yesterday the new so-called stimulus is a STEALTH bill
which contains an 800 page pro-Socialist written section where it says
that the PUBLICS pratitioners are to give treatment ONLY that WHICH is
COST EFFECTIVE to GOVERNMENT and that GOV says is appropriate NOT what is BENEFITIAL to make PUBLIC healthy and NOT what will keep the PUBLIC alive and NOT what will protect the PUBLIC.
iT also states that any illness lets say osteoporosis for example, if you are x percent chances of survival---they will let you DIE. Same thing with any illness.
Also, the Bill states that the PUBLIC must meet GOVERNMENT requirements to receive care and it leaves it up to GOVERNMENT to decide what those REQUIREMENTS ARE. (politically or otherwise)
NO WONDER Obama wanted to shove this IRRESPONSIBLE so-called stimulus down an unsuspecting NATIONS throats, because they think Americans are as Stupid as the ACLU and DEMS think they are.
go see for yourselves melanie malkin did a whole expose on it.
this is a STEALTH bill designed to turn an unsuspecting Nation into a SOC/GLOBALIST/COMMUNIST/MARXIST/FACIST Nation.

I can see that you Republicans still angry over the
results of the elections. It seems as if that you have
forgotten that the hardship we face today is a result
of the Bush administration. The change we seek to be a
prosperous nation will not come easy.
whatever we are reaping today are the seeds that we
have planted in the last eight years.
