Obama: You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry...
A lot of details can get lost in the mix while Washington's best and brightest debate the president's stimulus package. In short, Democrats mostly want to OK the $819 billion boost, while Republicans want to trim it down and include more tax breaks.
It would appear to be a civil debate, maybe a little partisan, but certainly nothing worthy of Taiwan-style parliamentary fistfights --
Oh wait. Barack "The Hulk" Obama just walked in.
Speaking at the House Dems' retreat in Virginia, Obama threw down his stick and pads, spat on the floor and growled in the face of cameras -- metaphorically. Though the president did mock his opponents in the GOP for criticizing how the aid package requires too much spending, saying:
"What do you think a stimulus is? It's spending. That's the whole point! No, seriously, that's the point."
Hey, easy, big guy. We're just saying, maybe we should ease back on the trillion-dollar cash delivery, and have a reasonable discussion about it. I mean, why are we spending $800 billion when we've got this deficit --
"First of all, I found this deficit when I showed up, number 1," Obama barked back. "I found this national debt doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me when I stepped into the Oval Office."
Well, at least it was wrapped!
All right, so party politics is back (did it ever leave?), and it's finally getting fun again. Just this week, John McCain, apparently unaware of Nov. 4's results, returned to the spotlight to offer up his own stimulus package, roughly half the size of Obama's and made up almost entirely of tax cuts. It was promptly rejected in the Senate.
And, before that, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asserted her dominance to reporters when one asked her about Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge influencing the stimulus's makeup. "I am the speaker of the House. I don't get into that," she said while waving away the question, Politico reported.
Quick, somebody fetch this Congress a bucket of water. 'Cos it is on fire!

What a pathological narcissist. Lets see, how many of
the criteria does the president meet.
1) a grandiose sense of self-importance
2) preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty
3) believes he is special and unique and can only be understood by other special people
4) requires excessive admiration
5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., expects automatic compliance with his expectations
6) is interpersonally exploitative
7) lacks empathy
8) is envious of others and believes others are envious of him
9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
He meets all of the criteria. If he's becoming this expolsive now (after about two weeks), wait to see what he's really like when he doesn't get his way.

You young folks are all correct, but you didn't pay attention in your political science class. You are seeing what happens to a good Republic when the people leaves its government in the hands of lawyers and accountants. What this generation has to do is start getting involved in politics and the economy. Find your own candidates and support them in local and national elections. If you don't, it ain't going to get much better. As for myself and the other older generations, we did our part and handed you young folks a pretty good country and look what you went and done. You fell for the first line of shit that was handed to you. Do the right thing vote them out of office ASAP and don't let this circus become a way of life for them. "Can you say "IMPEACHMENT"?.

One can only imagine that with this many ignorant malicious sounding posters at your university-site that you've got a den of young Republicans snarling about what they didn't do in a period when they were less civic minded but looking out for number One. Usually, I get to deal with the uneducated red-staters but I can relate to where you are coming from: the 1940s. You are the guys who weren't in the service because your parents got a tax break which gives you a college education.
It indicates to me that the moderator is partisan.

I saw that speach and thought, What a freakin moron Halfrican. Yes the stimulus package IS spending. DUH. The point is to spend it on things that will actually STIMULATE the economy. He also said there hasnt been a bill with out pork. Can't we just have a stimulus bill with no fat perks to lobbyists? Just give the money to the people. We will pay our bills and buy stuff. You want to give us tax breaks on houses. You want to give banks money to free up loans.. We don't have jobs.. our credit is maxxed out. how will we get loans?

The problem isn't with spending in general. It is the hundreds of billions of dollars in WASTEFUL spending that is included in the bill. I'm glad there are still enough smart people in congress to slow down this train wreck government we now have.

Republicans have lost the election. The unemployment rate is at 7.6 and that is a mild estimate. There are many more who are looking for work outside the system.
Legal or illegal! The Republicans had eight years to correct this mess and they made it worse. They want tax cuts for the same guys who got the bail out money. The Republicans are the new anti-Christs. They are not
Americans. I am sure Lucifer is waiting for them. People are dying in the streets - pass that package now or face God now. I am sure Lucifer has a special spot for those nasty Republicans all set up.

When reckoning day comes and it will, we will see if you are ready to hand over your hard earned money, your child for camps to spy on your parents or worse
telling you you have a curfew daily and you must work for the government.
Obama got mad. He is like an irresponsible spoiled child from Chicago politics, who got their way so long they think it is the right way, the only way. It isn't.
Next he tells them, does not ask, "Tells them" to have it on his desk by next week. Excuse me Mr. Obama, this is not a dictatorship, it is a democracy. You won, but you are not our dictator.

We need to establish a crisis hotline and psychiatrist help for these angry Republicans who spend valuable times contemplating ways to harm the United States. I think we have a new breed of terrorists and people who do not like us and most of them identify with the Republican Party. The stimulus package should make provisions for psychiatrist evaluation and treatment of this group to prevent further damage or sabotage of the economy.

I'm wondering what all those people who had their hand out for Obama's tax cuts are going to do when they realize that he has decided it is best they get UP TO $20 a week back in their paycheck! Obama and his team don't think you are capable of handling the whole $500 per single person or $1000 per married couple all in one lump sum! If you don't pay any taxes now, you might get the whole $20, but it will be gradually decreased and those who actually pay taxes won't get nearly as much! ROFLMAO!!! Yep, Obama's all about "change"!

Wow - I didn't think I'd make it through all your gibberish - but, somehow, I did.
Now for a short civics lession:
There is no legal or peaceful way for any State to seced from the Union. It can only be done through war - provided the State that wants to leave the Union wins the war. With the federal government having all the weapons on their side - I doubt that any State will be successful in their endeavor to leave the United States.
