Just when you thought the Bush-era warnings of Armageddon around the corner were over, Cheney strikes again.
The former vice president hasn't been seen in public since Inauguration Day, when he was rolling around in a wheelchair due to an injury sustained lifting boxes. But a few days ago, he gave an interview to Politico, in which he warns there is a "high probability" that terrorists will attack with biological or nuclear weapons in the next few years. He worries that now that his boss is out of office and back in Texas, the Obama administration policies will make the attacks more likely to succeed.
"When we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to doing anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry," Cheney said.
I think he's just worried we are not worrying enough now that he's not there to worry us.
But for all his worrying, Cheney is a confident man. Saturday Night Live recently mocked Dick Cheney, parodying him as a man with no regrets from his often-controversial eight years in the Bush administration. He told Politico he still thinks Guantanamo is a "first-class program" and said he believes one day files will be made public that show that policies like waterboarding were directly responsible for preventing another Sept. 11-like attack.
Cheney reminds me of another SNL creation: Debbie Downer.

if you thought the bush administration is bad, then youre gonna hate the obama administration. the congress and the senate are now almost entirely liberal. this guy is showing sympathy to a bunch of mother fucking terrorists, the kind of guys who if they had the chance, would shoot a young american child in the head. showing weakness WILL give the terrorists more confidence, maybe enough to detonate a nuke in our very own country. when that happens, im hoping you naive pussy liberals will see just what your ignorance has done. the difference between soviet russia during the cold war, and the terrorists of the 21st century is that the terrorists are much harder to track. that is a major problem. if we get soft with these assholes, theyll drive a nuke right into one of our cities, killing millions. so ask yourself this, is torture really such a bad thing when you can save millions of lives and trillions of dollars?

Yes, however, we were given numerous insights to the impending hit on our own soil, but we (the country) became more fixated on if "Clinton (did or didn't) have sexual relations with that woman", that rather than dealing with REAL issues, pertinent to our country, the #1 issue called to order is to prove/disprove Clinton's adultry. So, to disprove your statement, it strategically happened under Clinton, giving way to it being executed only 7 months into Bush's administration.

Senators Boxer and Feinstein (California dumocrats) and told them that I would not vote for
anyone that voted for Obama porker bill. I also called Costa's (D - Calif) office
and told him the same thing. All three voted for that CRAPPY BILL. Now the are on my list of politicians that have to go.

Kortney's comment on the first posting scared me. I believe she is actually hoping that a major terror attack will occur,in order to put her Republicans back in office for another 25 years. Uhhhh...we attacked Iraq, and they had nothing to do with 9/11. We KILLED thousands of their people, destroyed their economy, ruined their infrastructure, and are now propping up an unpopular government that is only there as long as we are. I'd say we were overdue for another attack. With all of the gun-toting morons we have in this country, I'm surprised more of you aren't volunteering to go to Iraq and Afghanistan. I hear there's a very short waiting line.

Obama will not run in 2012, he will not make it thru the first 4 years. He will be impeached and thrown out of office long before 2012 (unless he turns around and stops ruining this country).

The only consistency in any of these post is the blatent lack of respect for our leaders, past and present, and each other. It shouldn't matter whos watch 9/11 happened on, the point is that it happened. "Failure of imagination," I believe is what they said. We are blessed to live in a country that is not war-ridden. We aren't told how to talk, walk, or who to believe in. We don't have to live in fear that our government leaders will kill us if we don't believe in the god that they tell us too. We have freedoms that other Countries only dream of. It is too hard to get into the minds of dictators and leaders whos only goal is to dominate and destroy people who don't think like them. Being president is hard. they aren't expected to know everything or do everything right or the way you want them to. We go over to other countries and help them build democracies because we aren't a selfish nation. We actually care about the rights and freedoms of others in this world. If we keep a loose view of terriorism we will be blindsided again. Iran calls us ,"the great satan, and Isreal the little satan." they want us gone, off the face of the map. Defeated and bowing down to their god. Try to have some respect for the weight our presidents carry, the old administration and this one. no body is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, including our presidents. As for armageddon, read Epicenter by Joel Rosenberg. Make your own conclusion, but be respectful of others. if we start persecuting each other because of our beliefs; political or spiritual we are no better than the dictators who seek to dominate and make everyone a robot.

Ignoring the history of Muslim violence and hate, revising history by essentially ignoring that the Muslims attacked us on 9/11 and murdered thousands, is not going to protect us nor help defeat them. Cheney is a great American. Weak, cowardly people take comfort in mocking him because he says things that they do not want to hear (and they know he cannot and will not hurt them). These same people will never face the facts of Islamism, because they do not have the courage or moral fortitude to do so.

I looked at the picture of that man in a wheelchair, being pushed by his wife and I thought, "Why doesn't she just shove that sorry *ssed SOB over the edge of that walkway?" Hey, Dick Lick and Mrs...how's that grandbaby born to you by your lesbian daughter? Now, tell me again, how that deed was accomplished? Was the key piece of utilized equipment a turkey baster or iced tea spoon - because we KNOW it wasn't a part of the human male anatomy. Good, old fashioned Republican morals and family values: Americans owe it to the Cheney family for showing us by example.

Whatever you think of Bush and Cheney, they really believed they were doing what they needed to do to keep America safe. They ran themselves ragged trying to keep up with intelligence info, and I believe they took what they believed to be the right actions. The American public will never be privy to all of the intelligence info, but you can determine that after 9/11, our country was safe under their watch. I would rather hear the truth than soothing words.
