No. 44 Barack Obama is following through on his campaign promise to create new jobs by hiring thousands of people to fill new positions in his administration. The 63-question application is quite extensive -- some say invasive -- and seeks to weed out conflict-of-interesty people.

Anyone can apply -- members of any party, state or pyramid-scheme-based religion. So you can imagine my surprise when a top McCain aide leaked this to me.

Name: Sarah Louise Heath Palin
Occupation: Governor, Alaska/Personal Shopper, Nieman Marcus
Position Desired:
Maverick

-- For more than two months in 2008, I lived abroad in the continental United States during my campaign to be vice president.

(8) Briefly describe the most controversial matters you have been involved with during the course of your career.

-- Can't think of any now, but I'll be sure to find some and bring 'em to ya.

(12) Speeches: Please identify all speeches you have given.

(24) Please list all loans in excess of $10,000 made to you or your spouse.

-- OK, seriously? The clothing thing is getting ridiculous.

(26) Please describe all real estate held in your name or in your spouse's name during the last ten years.

-- Thanks, but no thanks! I pulled the plug on that one. This one's a gotcha question.

(42) Please list any lawsuits ... in which you or your spouse have testified at trial or deposition.

-- I was the subject of an investigative probe in Alaska of which I am 100 percent innocent and in which an independent ethics panel concluded I am 100 percent guilty of violating the trust of Alaskan voters.

(49) Please list any malpractice claim made against you, formally or informally, and describe the resolution of the matter.

(59) Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun?

-- Oh, you betcha. Those caribou don't shoot themselves.

(62) Do you know anyone or any organization, either in the private sector or government service, that might take steps, overtly or covertly, fairly or unfairly, to criticize your nomination, including any news organization?

-- Nope.

(63) Please provide any other information, including information about other members of your family, that could suggest a conflict of interest or be a possible source of embarrassment to you, your family, or the President-Elect.
