Are There Computers in McCain's 7 Homes?
Republican millionaire John McCain found out by reading news reports today that he owns at least seven homes.
The Arizonan is usually pretty good on his feet, speaking off the cuff about policy and laws and how Washington works. But when Politico reporters asked him how many homes he and his rich wife own, he said:
"I think -- I'll have my staff get to you," he bumbled. "It's condominiums where -- I'll have them get to you."
The matter is certainly personal, but Barack Obama has tied it in with McCain's claims that the economy's "fundamentals" are "strong" and that it takes $5 million a year to make someone truly rich.
"I guess if you think that being rich means you've got to make $5 million, and if you don't know how many houses you have, then it's not surprising that you might think the economy was fundamentally strong," Obama said in Virginia.
The Illinois senator's dig is a response to McCain calling him elitist and out of touch with the issues Americans care about. What those issues are, I'm not really sure, but the average citizen probably has more to worry about than the paint job on the inside of one of his vacation homes.
PolitiFact, a fact-checking website, lays it out in detail, saying the traded barbs are all about portraying the opponent as the disillusioned candidate.
The Jed Report also gives a Google Earth tour of the McCains' lavish homes:
But what does "elitist" even mean? Not everyone can run for president, despite what your third-grade teacher told you. The U.S. presidency may be the most elite post in the history of the world, short of Napoleon Bonaparte or Genghis Khan levels.
McCain is elitist. Obama is elitist. And there are more significant differences between them than real estate.

What a bogus story. You're absolutely right, who cares how many homes these guys have. They're all rich, and that shouldn't be a bad thing. Being successful is what we all should strive for.
For Obama to charge McCain as an elitist is so hypocritical. It's amazing if people are affected by stupid attacks like this. Let's stick with the issues and their core beliefs. Oh...that's right,
Obama has no core beliefs. Most important issues that need to be dealt with are apparently 'above his pay grade.' If he trusts in people like Jeremiah Wright, Resko, etc, then it's scary what he might 'believe' in.

of course, we should appreciate those who have achieved success through hard work . . . of course, cindy inherited hers and john married it all.

Why is the story's title, "Are there computers in McCain's 7 homes?"? There is nothing in the story about computers. This kid's parents must be so proud of their son's expensive college education!

Marsha Marsha Marsha, if you had read any of Matt Negrin's other posts, you would see that he wrote quite a popular one about McCain's illiteracy in the world of computers. And if you watched the news at all, you would know that McCain is too old to even know what a computer is.
So, it's a joke. Get it?
