Edwards Admits to Infidelity

Edwards told ABC News in an interview that he did in fact have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter. But don't worry, his wife was in remission when it happened (back in 2006) according to Edwards... as if that makes anything better.

The former Senator came clean today, Friday, after weeks and weeks of avoiding the allegations from The National Enquirer. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has been writing about the speculation for some time, which also includes the suggestion that Edwards may possibly be the father of Hunter's daughter. According to Edwards, the affair ended in 2006, and the baby was born on February 27, 2008, making it impossible for him to be the father.

At least he has that going for him... unless he is lying about that too.This is an incredible letdown and a betrayal for those who supported him in his endeavor for the White House. Edwards said that this was not a surprise to his wife, as he told her back in 2006.

So, should we care? If his wife, who is now terminally ill with cancer, knew about this and chose to forgive him, should we forgive him too? Does it matter if we choose to forgive him?

It's a disappointment that Edwards now has absolutely no shot of becoming Obama's Vice President, but it is perhaps more disappointing that he's become another stain on the dirty sheets of politics.

What a low-life. I'm surprised his his approval rating with you democrats hasn't skyrocketed. Doesn't it make him seem more like Clinton?

No, it doesn't make him more like clinton it makes him more like Newt Gingrich and John McCain. You know, cheating on your sick wife and then running off with the new hottie and leaving the "old lady" who stuck by you through thick and thin to fend for herself!!!

Like he is the only person to ever have an affair. I would hope people have more important things to do in life than sit around nosing in others business. Let it go people. If people spent more time cleaning up their own messes, we may have a country of perfect citizens. Is Bush gone yet?

INFIDELITY IS JUST THAT, INFIDELITY, IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY IN THIS WORLD, ESPECIALLY TO PUBLIC FIGURES, AND ORDINARILY, I MIGHT THINK THAT IT IS HIS OWN BUSINESS , HOW HE CHOOSES TO CONDUCT HIS AFFAIRS.
BUT, HIS WIFE IS DYING OF CANCER, SHE HAS PEVIOUSLY LOST A SON, SHE IS DEALING WITH LEAVING BEHIND YOUNG CHILDREN, SHE MUST BE DEVASTATED, WHEN I THINK OF HER STANDING BESIDE THAT WORTHLESS PUNK, IT MAKES ME WANT TO SPIT!!!! SOMEDAY THOSE TWO CHILDREN WILL FIND OUT WHAT HE DID TO THEIR MAMA BEFORE SHE PASSED, AND THEY WILL HATE AND DISPISE JOHN EDWARDS, WHICH IS WHAT HE DESERVES!!!!
